"Connecting the dots to success"

Vavia Technologies is an Information Technology based services firm that specializes in providing solutions to address business needs with help of internet based solutions. Formed in 2008, by Alan Vincent D'Souza,Vavia is now a twenty five member team fully equipped with the right resources and infrastructure to take-up projects that delivers long-lasting returns to its clients.

Vavia believes that good management is the art of making problems so interesting and their solutions so constructive that everyone wants to get to work and deal with them. Hence Vavia brings together a team of technology, business and social visionaries who provide direction to Vavia’s executive management in a dynamic economic and business environment.

Business Idea

Vavia Technologies was incorporated with the intention of providing quality and superior dynamic web services to corporates as well as individuals. "We focus on providing the right IT solutions using latest technologies in a very short span of time thereby benefiting global businesses. That was the key business idea. Our maximum delivery time for any web solution is within seven working days. This helps in launching business sooner and better," says Alan

Their organization provides all services that come under the definition of Web 2.0 . They help enterprises by providing Bespoke ERP and CRM solutoins using latest technologies such as Ruby and Python.

"These technologies help organizations in reducing ownership and ongoing costs, thereby providing economical IT Solutions. We mainly work on open source and mobile platforms. We specialize in Content Management Systems such as Joomla!, Drupal, Wordpress," adds Alan.

Target Market

There are a lot of individuals and organizations who require speedy unique business oriented web solutions.Vavia offers creative, high-resulting and easy-to-manage Internet based solutions. The workforce at Vavia understandes the demanding need for having a meaningful, yet affordable internet presence for institutions, corporates, and even individuals.

With motive to encourage everyone to have an online presence, Vavia offers self-manageable portals to reduce the effort in administration and external dependency.

Future Plans

The founder is certain about his future plans and says "Though the focus for Vavia lies in providing quality web solutions, Vavia intends to launch and promote two unique web portals within the next six months. We have started concentrating on our commercial portals. These portals would be developed using latest technologies that would benefit the common man."

In the coming few years they plan to expand to other cities and countries and improve their delivery quality, also looking forward to take their portals to global levels.

Alan proudly adds "The framework being developed at Vavia would launch soon. This would be amongst the first few web frameworks from India"

What sets them apart

Alan says "We questioned ourselves and understood why clients need a difference from the majority and understood it's because the basics of a problem-solution approach are either ignored or forgotten." So they stick to the basics and works not only towards fulfilling customers' present and future business needs but also giving them the best and feasible solutions.

His entrepreneurial journey

Alan always dreamt about being an entrepreneur, infact he had named Vavia when he was just twelve years old. He started off as a Corporate designer at 13 and then went on to explore web technologies.

"I always dreamt of building a different enterprise where we would focus only on niche areas of programming," this young entrepreneur tells us. The seed capital for the company was from the family and from the work that he had done as a freelancer.

"There was a lot of trial and error that went on in this process. However, the guidance from my siblings and parents helped me a lot to understand the process better. They advised me on looking for the right attitude more than anything else. Being a startup a lot of people are worried about their job security and hence it is difficult to find people who would be interested to work along with you" recalls Alan with a smile.

The right human resource is the key to the success of any enterprise. The biggest challenge for Alan

was finding the right people for the organisation.

Intially he made a few mistakes and says, "The biggest mistake was not taking the right consultation from the right people. I would say that as a beginner any startup organization needs to learn a lot from experienced people. There is nothing wrong in taking advises and then judging if it would be right for you to go ahead with these advises. But it really matters who advises you "

During the growth process there were times when he use to work for almost twenty one hours a day and this used to go on for weeks. He had faced health problems and that’s when he felt that all this wouldn’t happen if he had gone in for a regular job. But his passion for Vavia quickly drove that thought away....

'Follow your heart and the dots will connect' has been the mantra for his success. "This has really inspired me and this is what keeps me going. I keep following my heart with the hope that one day all dots would connect." Alan says with a smile

Recognition

The company started off from a single room in Bangalore wherein Alan handled the sales and development himself. They gradually added 4 employees in the first month and went on and by the second month they were about 12 employees.

Today, they are recognized for one of the fastest deliveries.

"A few weeks back one of our employees started working on a new dynamic web 2.0 framework. This framework though under development has greatly been appreciated by a lot of technology experts," informs Alan.

Tips for budding entrepreneurs

The key challenge for an Indian entrepreneur is the society and surroundings. Very few people come forward to actually support an entrepreneur.

Alan advices the budding entreprenuer to understand that there is always a need for a very well planned business plan. "It is going to be difficult if one just jump in without knowing what is going to happen. Understand your path and focus on the same. Only that will get you success," he says.

He further adds, "There are a thousand ideas that you would get while you are an entrepreneur. However, one should be very careful in choosing the idea that would be implemented."

Rightly said!

YourStory wishes Alan Vincent D'Souja all the luck through his journey and hopes his success dots keeps connecting bringing him lots of achievements and excellence in his work.
