Young Turks Startup Story

Gautam Sinha passed out from XLRI, Jamshedpur a leading business school in India in 1994. He worked with Wipro between 1994 and 1996 (at Bangalore) and turned entrepreneur in the May of 1996. The first company that he co-founded and ran was called Team Value Associates (TVA) in 1996. TVA was in the business of international IT staffing and he ran it till 2000 post which he had to shut it down as the dot com crash in the USA had made the business unviable.Along with TVA he also co-founded another company called Team Value Profiling Services (TVPS) along with the 2 other partners in 1997. TVPS has now morphed into 2 companies (Thomas Assessments and People Metrics) and Gautam continues to be a shareholder and a board member in both these companies. A hugely successful venture these two companies are among India Œs leading companies in the assessment space and have a national footprint.

He went on to co-found Coolden.com, a 3 D website which was a community focused dotcom in the children space (8-14 years) in 1999 but the dotcom crash of 2000 made external funding difficult and the company could not sustain itself for more than 24 months.

TVA Infotech (a company he founded in the year 2000 and also headed) went on to become the market leader in the recruiting space (it was a niche firm which focused on providing manpower for the growing IT industry in the South of India) and was a pioneer in the recruitment outsourcing space much before the terminology of RPO gained popular acceptance. TVA grew to a 100+ company before being acquired by Allegis Group Inc, the largest staffing company in the USA, in March of 2008.

Gautam has now relocated to Mumbai (after spending 14 years in Bangalore) and currently works with the Allegis group and heads their permanent hiring business unit in India which is now called TVA Allegis (re-christened post the acquisition).

An avid reader, Gautam has a fascination for business history and has also been a regular contributor to India Œs leading newspapers/magazines in the form of articles/opinion pieces. Being an entrepreneur for 12 years (in a 15 year work life so far) he has a passion for new ideas and starting ventures.
