Young Turks Startup Story

Fourteen years of bartending experience from the Hyatt Regency, Delhi to managing bars in private and corporate parties in Northern India Yangdup Lama has been actively involved with conducting corporate and consumer workshops on various aspects of beverage appreciation and experience for major liquor brands in India. Yangdup is also the Corporate Bar and Beverage Trainer for the Taj Luxury Hotels, and a bar Consultant for a handful of international spirit brands in India namely Bacardi, Grey Goose, Bombay Sapphire and 42 Below Vodka to name a few.Yangdup received his formal training in Bartending from renowned International Bartender Laval Lim Hon of the Waikiki Cocktail Bar, Majorca, Spain in 1996 and 1997.

A certified bar and beverage trainer for bartenders from the Hyatt International Chicago in March 1998 and a certified Trainer on Rum tasting and Rum cocktails from the Bacardi University, Catano, Puerto Rico 2006 Yangdup has been awarded the H&FS excellence award for gThe Indian Bartender Of The Year h in 1996 and was the Winner of the Asia Pacific 30 UNDER 30award 1997 from Susan and Field associates Hong Kong for being one of the outstanding bartenders in Asia.Yangdup Lama set up Cocktails & Dreams with an initial investment of Rs 10,000/- in July 1999 offering bar management services to Private and corporate parties in North India. In 2003 launched the Cocktails & Dreams School of Bar and Beverage Management which conducts short and long term courses in Bartending and Beverage Management for people who would like to take up bartending as a career and has successfully trained over 900 professionals. Presently runs three schools in Delhi, Mumbai, and Kathmandu and trains over four hundred budding bartenders each year through various programs.
