iXiGO introduces Trip Planner; Travel Planning Gets More Exciting

iXiGO introduces Trip Planner; Travel Planning Gets More Exciting

Sunday May 13, 2012 , 2 min Read

Brilliant in their layouts and decked with highly interactive features, the new age travel websites have revolutionized the way people travel

Makemytrip has been around from almost a prehistoric era and has defined online travel in India. This situation isn’t the same anymore. iXiGO has also had a stamping presence for over half a decade now and there are a bunch of other ventures trying to invigorate the travel sector. Traveltriangle, Tushky, Zarahutke, Oravel and many others facilitate travel planning like no other.

To augment this ‘movement’, iXiGO has come up with a new trip planner which with its simplicity and an affable mascot provides a great user experience. iXiGO has a search bar in the “trip-planner” section wherein one can type the source and destination to get all the required itinerary including how to travel (modes and cost), weather at the destination and a list of the top hotels and places-to-visit.

The list of places to visit and additional information is yet not available for every destination/city which might be a hindrance if you’re going to a smaller town which hasn’t been on the tourist radar but the database can only get bigger. Apart from trip planning, iXiGO also helps you book flight, train and bus tickets as its regular offering.

Talking of going local and small, Tushky promises an experience which others won’t be able to provide as they connect you to the local people who’d want to be a guide to your trip. One can expect to visit places which some other traveler never would. With the tagline “keep wandering” and an interface designed with just four options to define an itinerary, Tushky is worth a spin. There have been a few Airbnb inspired offerings for India as well; which is an absolute necessity. Oravel and Zarahutke fit the bill here.

There is scope, as always, for further innovation and development in the presentation of the final product. Internationally, there is Wanderfly which is like the Pandora for travel and TripAdvisor for travel planning. wherescool.com introduced communities to share independent, cheap, underground and authentic things to do around the world, moreover, one can also look up spots in any city around the globe and write reviews. There are other trip planning sites like Goplanit and Duffelup which don’t compare to iXiGO in terms of the experience; iXiGO has scored very highly here.

This might just make you want to pack your bags and head off somewhere. Happy travelling!
