Attracting more than 155million tourists last years, Andhra Pradesh has contributed to about 21% of the total tourist traffic in India. To further the potential of the tourism industry in Andhra Pradesh, APTDC has now tied up with Mojostreet, a mobile application to enhance the experience of the tourists visiting the state.
Making the announcement Mr.Sandeep Kumar Sultania, VC & MD of APTDC said, “Our partnership with Mojostreet – A GPS enabled mobile application, will make it easier for tourists to find information about nearby tourists spots, hotels, restaurants, banks, travel agencies and much more right on their mobile phones. This is a great step towards making our state even more tourist friendly using the latest mobile technology.”
APTDC has already implemented many unique technology and non technology initiatives to make Andhra Pradesh one of the most tourist friendly states in India. Through Mojostreet, APTDC intends to actively reach out to its tourists to provide all the information needed on places to stay, visit, shop, dine and more. The app will also provide users with contact information and GPS enabled road directions using Google Maps. APTDC will also use Mojostreet to interact with its tourists, collect feedback and even provide special discounts at APTDC properties.
Kalyan Manyam, CEO, Mojostreet said, “We are proud to be associated with APTDC. We are confident that Mojostreet users and tourists at large will benefit immensely from this association. We are looking forward to more such partnerships with tourism corporations across India to help people discover Incredible India.” Mojostreet is currently available for iPhone, Nokia touch, Android, Blackberry and Windows smartphones. The app can be downloaded for free from all major mobile application stores.
With the Indian tourism industry projecting an upward growth rate despite the economic recession, more significant public-private partnerships can be expected in this sector especially with companies MakeMyTrip, iXigo, Vego etc doing innovative work in this sector in the recent times. Sensing the opportunities in the travel sector, more startups are likely to join the bandwagon.
