iXiGO launches android app for Indian trains search

iXiGO.com, a travel planning & search engine company based out of Delhi announced the launch of its trains search app- Indian Rail & Trains. This android app gives real-time information for all Indian Railway trains and tries to take the hassle out of selecting train tickets. Built completely in-house, the app has features which allows train search by destinations or train numbers, train routes & timings, real time seat availability status for all journey classes, fares & PNR status. The app is loaded with information of over 2000 trains.

Giving it a spin, the app scores high on UI and is pretty fast. There are many other apps on the Play Store for train search but iXiGO can give them a run for their money, especially with the reputation it comes with. Founded by Aloke Bajpai and Rajnish Kumar in 2006, iXiGO has raised $18.5million from SAIF and MakeMyTrip and has been one of the promising players in the Indian travel space.Saurabh Srivastava, VP, Product & Marketing Strategy, iXiGO.com said, “Over 100 million Indian passengers search for train information either online or on a mobile device. It was high time someone came up with an easytouse app for the common Indian traveler for alleviating their existing pain points and frustration." Succeeding to an extent, this app does well what it claims.

In the recent past, iXiGO also launched their Trip Planner before which they partnered with a bunch of international airports to power their online travel search.
