FoodCloud lets you enjoy home cooked international cuisines by professional chefs

There are many  times when you have unexpected guests and you do not have anything to offer them.  At such times you wish you had someone who would whip up a tasty meal.  Ordering from restaurants is not an option because we are talking about home cooked food. FoodCloud is a startup which solves this problem. It enables you to order food from professional chefs who work from home.


FoodCloud  was founded by serial entrepreneurs Vedant Kanoi and Shamit Khemka in September this year. Vedant graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 2006 and then worked for UBS Investment Bank for two years till 2008, post which he founded BatchBuzz Media. Shamit Khemka is the founder of SynapseIndia which provides software development and IT services, prior to which he founded, an online database for real estate in India.

What  is FoodCloud

FoodCloud can be mistaken for a home delivery service, but that is not what it is. It is a home cooking service where you get home cooked food by professionals and a lot of variety is ensured in the menu. You can call the chef and give them special instructions in case you require anything out of the ordinary. Food pickup and home delivery can be arranged depending on the chef and the quantity of  food.


How it works

As a user logs in to the website, he can either browse by chefs or  menus. Based on the menu he selects he can order food from the chef who specializes in that menu. Chefs specializing in Chinese, Lebanese, Thai, Italian, Rajasthani, Austrian, Mexican, Greek and many other cuisines are listed on the website. Once you zero in on a food item, you can select the item and specify the quantity you require and the  date by which you want it delivered. Once you checkout, you will receive a confirmation of  your order and contact details of the chef, in case you want to coordinate with them.

FoodCloud is based out of Delhi and the founders have partnered with over 20 chefs in and around the city. They are currently bootstrapped and looking  to expand to other metros in the near future.
