E-commerce startup Yepme signs in Bollywood actress and supermodel Esha Gupta as its brand ambassador

The online fashion brand from India, Yepme.com has on-boarded the famous Bollywood actress and model Esha Gupta as its brand ambassador. Esha will endorse Yepme’s women’s wear line in a new television commercial featuring Yepme’s latest Spring-Summer Collection 2014.Launched in August 2011 by IIT, IIM alumni, Vivek Gaur (ex Unilever), Sandeep Sharma (ex Accenture) and Anand Jadhav (ex Pantaloon), YepMe caters to young men and women between 20 and 29 years of age. It services over 1000 cities monthly and delivers close to 500,000 units to its customers every month.

The brand is planning a television campaign to be aired across DTH landing channels such as Tata Sky, Dish TV, Airtel and Sun Direct. The digital launch will include a Youtube campaign and the launch of an exclusive ‘Esha Gupta’ collection on Yepme.com, featuring the clothes she has worn in the TVC. Her endorsement for Yepme runs parallel to her much-awaited movie release, Humshakals.

The television commercial has been shot by the team from advertising and film-making agency Le Dispensary, led by Sam Ahmed. The clothes that have been worn by Esha during the shoot are expected to be made available as an exclusive limited edition ‘Esha Gupta Collection’ on the site, including a collection of cross-over tops, fringe tops, crop tops, short skirts and lace dresses, amongst other items.

The newly appointed brand ambassador, Ms. Esha Gupta commented,

I believe fashion in its truest sense is style that is easily available to all, and Yepme has done just this by giving people the latest styles at the click of a button. I personally love Yepme’s clothing line and I am glad to be a part of the fashion revolution that they are creating.

Earlier this month, Yepme.com had signed in Farhan Akhtar as their Brand Ambassador for the men’s range. As Farhan’s first official association with the brand, he has written, acted and directed in music video “Tension kyun lete ho yaar” for Yepme.com, with Ehsaan and Loy composing its music. The music video directed by Sujaat Saudagar, features Farhan in several Yepme outfits showcasing the wide range of the brand for every moment of the day, which have been subsequently launched for sale on the site as the ‘Farhan Akhtar Collection.’.

The video that was launched less than two weeks back has garnered close to 2 million views. The brand also signed up actor Sonu Sood to endorse their sportswear brand, PlayCool, signalling a strategy to use celebrities as appropriate for their fast-changing, vibrant new collections.
