The fulfillment centre, located in Gundlapochampally in Medchal Mandal of neighbouring Ranga Reddy district in the state, is spread over 2.2 lakh sq ft and holds storage capacity of 5.89 lakh cubic ft.

Flipkart COO and Co-founder Binny Bansal said, "We are excited to open our largest fulfillment centre in Telangana, which offers a conducive environment for e-commerce companies, which have largely supported the installation of this facility."

The new facility would create over 17,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities within the area. Flipkart, with a current headcount of 33,000, has 45 million registered users.

Telangana Finance Minister Etela Rajender said, "This launch comes at a time when the e-commerce industry is at its peak in India and we hope it will inspire other organisations to make Telangana their home ground."
