Parth Ajay Shah, Founder , AMS

Tuesday June 23, 2009 , 5 min Read

Every child comes with the message that God is not yet discouraged of man.  ~Rabindranath Tagore Children are the future of a country and their education is the corner stone on which our success rests. Parth Ajay Shah, a Young Indian Entrepreneur subscribes to this ideal, so much so that he has taken their education in hand. He says "As usual like most Indian entrepreneurs, I started a company AMS on a very small scale but with a big dream & vision.

Though I was in Canada, my dream was to start a enterprise in India and I found the education field in a budding phase and this was the right time to get into it." "Our Vision is to achieve value driven leadership in Indian Montessori Education Industry and beyond through - Quality that is infinite, Service that cares and Hard work that endures”.

"Our Goal is to be a Leading institute in India and also a successful global Company through innovations and strategic alliances.”

"Finally our Values are Honesty and Integrity"

"Respect/care & concern for people"

"Commitment to Quality"

"Learning Organization"

"Dedication and Commitment"

"Trust"

"Teamwork"

"Openness and Transparency"

The scale of their operations is subject to the amount of students they get, as is the norm with most educational institutions. We asked Parth what the scope is for AMS he says"The scope is infinite since in India the Literacy level is quite low and specially in the age group where we focus. So Montessori Education Industry has very good scope and potential. The benefit will go to mainly 2 groups. One of course being young Indian Children who are going to build the Strong India of tomorrow. And Young Teacher’s specially girls, who want to make their career in the Teaching field. Pre Schools give them an opportunity to work as Facilitators and grow professionally."

He explained what is different about his model from all the other centers of education that spring up every year. After all

what makes his school different from another we asked, he retorted "The method our organization is using is quite different from Regular preschools. We are using the Montessori Method which is very famous across USA and Canada. Under that method we let the child do whatever they want to do . There is absolutely no pressure from the teachers side. And our organization believes that this is how you can Nurture a Kid’s Creativity. There are two things that drives the Whole Organisation, Love And Affection towards the child."

"After establishing 3 own branches in Ahmedabad, we wish to expand our services to Rural & urban, semi urban & Mini Metro cities of Gujarat then to neighboring states like Rajasthan ,Madhya Pradesh, Maharastra & later all of India. Mainly this expansion will be through franchisees."

Parth was bitten by the entrepreneurial bug because of its undertones of independence he says "I was working with a leading insurance company and from there I decided I can’t perform while working under someone. For sure they give you a nice pay cheque at the end of the month and security but that’s not all that you want to achieve in life. And after all, its all about passion and the burning desire to do something on your own. You can give shape to your ideas."

There are challenges in the business of education, its not all kids stuff, he says "In this industry of course the high cost of location is a big challenge since you need a bigger area in a good locality. And the other challenge we faced is a lack of trust. We are in the field of Education where every parent wants to make sure that the school where his/her child is going is Old and has a good reputation. Because after all it’s the kind of Education where no one is ready to compromise especially at the very First level from where their children are building their future."

AMS started at a very small scale and Parth used the money which he saved during his stay in Canada. His father helped him a lot with the Financial aspects too.

He was tempted by the prospects of a regular job but he weighed the options and chose his dreams, he says "Surely sometimes you think when you compare your Business income V/S the salary of the job, the difference might be huge but its all about the passion that keeps you going. Its not always a win win situation. You have to lose some to get more. And you really cant put your creativity into your 9 to 5 job. You are limited by the same Monotonous work."

Entrepreneurship is a driving force for Parth for various reasons, and his self belief stems from a host of factors, he explains "The confidence in myself and this is due to reasons like I am 24 and unmarried, so obviously I do not have much family oriented financial responsibility. I have enough time to make my business mature. Watching my dreams turning into reality and knowing that people are ready to believe in your idea makes you to stay with your dream. "

"The biggest achievement we got was when parents came to us and said that their children are totally different since He/she came here. The credit goes to our staff. We felt so proud when the kids called us while on their vacationd just to let us know that they are missing the School. What more achievement could you expect?"

Parth shared his experiences in business with us and summed them up saying "What the mind can conceive, it can achieve. Dreams come first, not vision statements. If you have an idea start working on it because an idea is no ones monopoly. The best thing you can do is love what you do and do what you love. Then you don’t have to work for a single day because you enjoy that work."

Yourstory wishes Parth success and fortune in building the future with education.
