Entrepreneurship Development Programme at Institute of Fashion Technology, Sualkuchi, Guwahati

A 50-day Entrepreneurship Development Programme on Fashion and Textile Designing under the integrated training programme on fashion and textile designing organised by Sualkuchi Institute of Fashion Technology started on July 6 under the aegis of the Central Silk Board.
After inaguration the training programme, Sarat Deuri, Joint Secretary, Central Silk Board, Guwahati stressed on the need of entrepreneurship development programme among the entrepreneurs of the NE region to make themselves competent in producing the finest quality textile which can capture the world market.
Speaking on employment guarantee, the Joint Secretary said a skilled entrepreneur capable of creating self-employment, might avail the opportunity of translating a lot of schemes under Central Silk Board.
Earlier, Parth-Sarathi Borbora, Principal of Sualkuchi Institute of Fashion Technology, explained the objectives and syllabus of the training programme. He offered thanks to the Central Silk Board for giving financial aids to organise the training programme at Sualkuchi, the nerve centre of muga-paat fabric product. Institute has been launching training programmes on dyeing, designing, pattern making and diversification to the entrepreneurs and already produced 150 entrepreneurs equipped with modern technology in six batches comprising 25 in each batch.
The training programme was participated by 22 entrepreneurs coming from different states of the NE region. This included 11 from Assam, 3 from Meghalaya, 5 from Nagaland, 1 from Mizoram and 2 from Tripura.
