A great potential of self-employment in the field of agriculture

Friday August 07, 2009 , 1 min Read

Entrepreneurship education is meant to provide knowledge and develop expertise to start and manage own independent enterprise. Students opting for PG Diploma in Management Business Entrepreneurship (PGDM-BE) course are guided to work on detailed project report and emerge with bankable business plan after completion of classroom training.

These views were expressed by Raman Gujral, regional coordinator, Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) of India while talking to mediapersons. He said that there was a great potential of self-employment in the field of agriculture but for that it was necessary that one should get specialisation in agri-entrepreneurship through PG Diploma in Management of NGOs. "For this purpose, the institute is also running an one-year Open Learning Diploma in Business Entrepreneurship through distance learning course in which students can take admission round the year," he said.

CR Patnaik, faculty, Eastern Regional Office, Orissa said that entrepreneurship education was now a burgeoning stream and youngsters could choose this stream as best career option while PN Srivastava, associate faculty, EDI, Gorakhpur, said that entrepreneurship was now becoming one of the best viable career option as compared to jobs.
