The Centre of Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE), Beta - the Finance Club of IIMA and Leverage - the Private Equity and Venture Capital Club of IIMA bring to you the IIMA Finance Conclave 2010.

The Theme - Challenging the New Normal

Today business landscape has changed fundamentally. Tomorrow's environment will be different, but no less rich in possibilities for those who are prepared. It is evident that the current economic downturn is fundamentally different from the recessions of the past decades. What we are experiencing is not merely another turn of the business cycle, but a restructuring of the economic order.

At the Conclave, we aim to bring together professionals from the PE/VC industry, investment banks, business houses, students, alumni and academicians to discuss recent trends and emerging issues in the industry, the challenges and opportunities they present and the way ahead. It will also act as a forum for budding entrepreneurs to interact with investors and preeminent business leaders.

Held over 3 days, the conclave promises to enrich the participants with deep musings and intellectual stimulation on all dimensions of the theme over the two days through speaker sessions, panel discussion and workshops.

Empresario - The Business Plan Showcase

The flagship event of the IIMA Finance Conclave 2010 is the Empresario - Business Plan Showcase brought to you in association with the CIIE.

Staying true to our objective of bringing together the community of entrepreneurs, academicians, and investors, the event will be an opportunity like none other for budding entrepreneurs committed to making their dreams a reality. It will provide the best teams with a platform to present their ideas before VCs, potential investors and industry experts.

A parallel objective is to create active deal-flow for venture capital investors to work on.

Each B-Plan will be scrutinized through a rigorous two step process of evaluation culminating in a closed door business plan presentation before investors. Teams would not only get a golden chance to get seed funding from the potential investors, but also the opportunity to be incubated at the CIIE.

Important Timelines

Registration Begins: 10th November, 2009

Submission of Round 1 Executive Summary: 25th November, 2009

Result of Round 1: 30th November, 2009

Submission of Round 2 Business Plans: 7th December, 2009

Final Shortlist for Presentation on Campus: 14th December

Business Plan Showcase at IIM Ahmedabad: 8th January 2010
