His mission is to understand your vision
KRD Vision, a Delhi based boutique consulting company, assists business leaders across the globe in making informed confident business strategy decisions that are backed by judgement, logic, experience, in-depth research and strong analytics. Started by a dynamic young entrepreneur Ketan Dewan, KRD Vision is an acronym for Knowledge Restructured Dynamics. Investing the 12 lakhs that he was saving up to buy his dream car, Dewan began his entrepreneurial venture in a store room on 1st October 2008. His mission was to understand a company’s vision and execute measurable growth.
During his corporate experience in the UK, Eastern Europe, China and India, Dewan realized the potential of a consulting company offering a full scale strategy department to SMEs. He noticed that companies generate approximately 100-150 ideas each year, but only 2-4 of these get implemented. However, all business plans exhibit growth only at the end of two years with major time wasted on simple problems. This motivated the young mogul to start his own consulting company.
Dewan’s maiden entrepreneurial venture follows a unique business solution called the Strategy Audit. He says, “Strategy Audit is a diagnostic tool to design and help implement the next 90 days strategies for companies across sectors. This is what makes KRD Vision a unique company in the world of consulting companies.” Their core competency lies in the ability to design and implement simple yet meaningful change so as to make companies more customer-focused, thereby enhancing their top and bottom line growth.
KRD Vision’s expertise has definitely boosted their top line growth. Starting as a one man army, the team has grown to nine in a span of little over 12 months. The company has clients across sectors that include: Healthcare, Equipments & Pharmaceuticals, Technology, Recruitment, Search & Training, BFSI, Logistics etc. KRD Vision targets Business Leaders, Key Decision Makers, CXOs, Functional Heads within MNCs, SMEs and start-ups, across sectors and industries. In Dewan’s words, “the decisions we propose impact all stakeholders of the company including customers.”
The ambitious entrepreneur plans on expanding his team strength to 25 within the next 12 months. He also aims at setting up an overseas marketing office in London in the coming year. He plans on scaling the company revenue to $I million by 2011 and to $25 million by 2018. His strategy to achieve these milestones is to empower each individual team member with opportunities for career growth.
Talking about his choice to become an entrepreneur, Dewan told YourStory that the spark to become an entrepreneur had been in him since his childhood. As a kid, he would gather friends and make plans to first purchase and then sell marbles to make profit. The budding entrepreneur says, “The spirit still remains the same. Only the product has changed.”
Much like his predecessors, the journey to entrepreneurial heaven has not been a smooth ride all along for Dewan. The initial months of KRD Vision saw tough times in terms of procuring a strong and trained team, lack of HR policies, inconsistent cash flow, not being able to meet the decision makers, sometimes an overdose of meetings in the same week, etc. Dewan says, “Every day brings a new challenge. However, the biggest one so far has been the process of hiring the right candidates who understand the business values and work accordingly to deliver what it expects.” Failures don’t seem to scare this committed entrepreneur. For him the journey has always been insightful.
Dewan’s entrepreneurial venture has been highlighted in ET Highflier as a unique business idea in times of recession. The young tycoon has never regretted his decision to become an entrepreneur. He believes that KRD Vision will be among the top consulting companies in the next eight years within the verticals they operate in. This dream has kept him glued to his passion and the rollercoaster ride of entrepreneurship.
Much like his company, Dewan gives a meaningful list of tips and insights for those planning to embark on a journey of entrepreneurship. Quoting a few, “Appreciate what you can do and also what you cannot, even start-ups need to drive outsourcing to achieve cost and competency benefits; hire people who share you vision and lastly follow your gut feeling. “ YourStory wishes Ketan Dewan and KRDVision the best of luck for all future endeavours. We will continue to bring to you the growth story of this Go-getter.
