World Entrepreneurship Day : Events around the world

YourStory brings you a roundup of the events held in different countries of the world through our partners for World Entrepreneurship Day. Below are some of the events held on WED 2010:
WED Senegal
In Senegal there was a project to promote small businesses with a women's group .
Women were trained on financial literacy in order to help them better manage their microcredit fund.They were going taught accounting and bookkeeping essentials , and marketing tools to better sell their products .
WED Greece
In Greece WED had an event to increase awareness among young entrepreneurs about -green- sustainable ideas and their implementation. The (sub)title of the event is: “Green Box: Plant an Idea” The event had four modules:
1- Introduction to entrepreneurship and sustainable development: the case of Greece-what is going on in the rest of the world (guest speakers)
2-break out session for icebreaking and networking “business card exchange”
3- Success stories and presentation of case studies from entrepreneurs and lessons learned
4-Interactive sustainable business building activity (build and present a new business idea/business pitch)
The event was broadcasted live and a group from Chicago participated in the business building with their -on line- business pitch! Entrepreneurship knows no barriers!
WED Egypt
The event was held by SIFE.One of SIFE Alex targets is connecting entrepreneurs with the real business world. Such an event will help in creating a network between entrepreneurship students (small scale entrepreneurs), business leaders and advisors, putting them into action by tackling the most crucial issues of the business world. The World entrepreneurship Day is providing these networks, the real opportunity to engage with their community entrepreneurs and begin their own business. Successful entrepreneurs will talk about their success stories and the challenges they faced and how they overcome these challenges."
