ESDS receives prestigious "IT Enterprises Award '09" and "Green IT Infrastructure Award '10" from Government of Maharashtra.

ESDS led by entrepreneur Piyush Somani, known for being India's first Green Datacenter, has been awarded the prestigious "IT Enterprises Award '09" by the Government of Maharashtra for its rapid growth in the financial year 2008-2009 and significant contribution in the IT Industry. The second award was given in the category "Green IT Infrastrcture '10" for the first Green Datacenter built by ESDS. The ESDS Datacenter at Nashik is the only Datacenter in Maharashtra having negligible sensible heat load and the Datacenter Infrastructure itself results in power saving of upto 30%.Mr. Chetan Chandole, Senior Manager - Administration, ESDS Software Solution Pvt. Ltd. received the awards presented by Honorable Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Mr. Ashokraoji Chavan, at a function held in Mumbai on birth anniversary of the late Prime Minister Shri. Rajiv Gandhi.

The "IT Enterprises Award" was bestowed upon ESDS based on its outstanding performance over the years, excellent contribution to the growth of the IT industry in the region and its innovative solution offerings, while the "Green IT Infrastructure Award" was conferred upon the company for its emphasis on the use of green technology in the construction of their building and datacenter thereby making them completely eco-friendly and low impacting on nature.

Thrilled on this occasion, Mr. Piyush Somani, M.D & CEO of ESDS said "ESDS is extremely honored to receive such prestigious awards from the Government of Maharashtra. I would like to thank the Government of Maharashtra and the jury in recognizing our efforts towards energy conservation and offsetting our carbon footprints. I am happy that our dedicated contribution towards I.T and hard work in the field of datacenter services has been recognized and appreciated by the Government. I dedicate these awards to the entire team of ESDS for their support that has helped us to reach this stage.”

'Maharashtra Information Technology Awards' have been instituted by the state to commemorate birth anniversary of the late Prime Minister of India, Shri. Rajiv Gandhi, and are awarded each year on August 20, 2010 celebrated as the Information Technology Day. The awards presented in six categories are aimed at felicitating companies in the state of Maharashtra for their outstanding performance during the year. The effort is towards promoting entrepreneurship, ensuring rapid proliferation of IT in the society and encourage employment generation in the IT industry.
