Contest marks launch of Facebook’s presence in Hyderabad, calling on local artists to submit their original designs for the new space
Hyderabad, India – September 30, 2010: Facebook, the social service that gives people the power to share and make the world more open and connected, today announced the start of its operations in India as it officially opens the doors of its Hyderabad office. The office is already humming with an initial landing team from its headquarters in Palo Alto, California and a team of recent hires from India, who are all putting their talent, passion, and creativity to work by supporting the company’s growing number of users, advertisers, and developers in India and around the globe. The office is headed by a dynamic leadership team, includingKirthiga Reddy, Director of Online Operations and Head of Office India and Manoj Varghese, Director of User Operations.
To celebrate the opening of the new space in Hyderabad, Facebook launched an art competition, which asks local artists to submit their proposals for original designs to decorate the office space. Beginning today and continuing through October 22nd, 2010, artists can visit facebook.com/Facebook India to enter the contest. The winner will be announced on November 15th, 2010.
