Themed around “Exploring Innovation”, TEDxBITSGoa will bring together leaders, thinkers and activist who everyday strive to positively change and contribute to the ever changing Indian Landscape. Spanning domains like Entrepreneurship, Activism, Development at the Bottom of Pyramid,et al.TEDxBITSGoa will discuss our role as citizens in the development of the world as a whole and seek to answer:

1.How important is it for us to build a sustainable model of progress in harmony with our cultural diversity?

2.How do you actually survive in a parasitic world of competition and sensationalism?

3.How do we define the role of entrepreneurs – smart businessmen or agents of change?

4.Do we actually have a solution for symbiotic development in a crisis driven world?

5.How can we use networking to find pervasive solutions to global problems?

6.How do we Explore Transformation with a view to renovate the society?

Speakers

TEDxBITSGoa features an array of innovators from the world of literature, healthcare, green energy, entrepreneurship, etc. with individuals like

o Subir Gokarn: He is an economist currently the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. He is also an awardee of Fulbright Research

Fellowship on which he spent time at Yale University.

o Atul Chitins: Technologist, businessman, consultant.

o Anuradha Pal: Tabla virtuoso and percussionist, she is termed as one of the’ 30 leading Women of India’ and ‘percussionist par excellence’

(according to India Today 2006).

o Brij Kothari: He is an Indian academic and a social entrepreneur. He invented Same Language Subtitling on TV for mass literacy in India.

o Jhelum Paranjape: Odissi Danseuse who is a awardee of the prestigious Kumar Gandharva Award for her continuous effort towards the spread of Odissi.

o Kalyan Varma: Renowned Wildlife Photographer.

o Sudip Dutta: The CEO of Aporv (www.aporv.com), He has also presented on various topics including Social Entrepreneurship

o Sunil Mukhi: Physicist for Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) in the Department of Theoretical Physics. His research deals with the physics of elementary particles, more specifically Quantum Field Theory and String Theory.

o Jonathan Wolfe: A doctorate in visual neuroscience from the University of Pennsylvania , he first discovered the beauty of fractals while a student at the Albuquerque Academy in 1987, and he has been eagerly teaching people about fractals ever since.

o Nitin Gupta (Rivaldo): The CEO of Entertainment Engineers, he is a Stand Up comedian known for the famous play ‘Love in December’.

o Rauf Ali: Wildlife Biologist, a trustee of FERAL an environmental NGO
