Sunday February 20, 2011 , 1 min Read
Madura Microfinance chairperson Dr. Tara Thiagarajan has been contributing a weekly column Physics of Poverty to YourStory every week. Because of her prior commitments, the column will now appear once in two weeks – that is on alternate Sundays.
Right from the start, Dr. Tara has been writing on eclectic topics that have a close connection with the people she deals with as Madura’s chairperson, perceptions, and myths. The column is a timely addition to the conversations that should shape the microfinance sector, which is undergoing change in the way it conducts business. Madura’s focus is on alleviating poverty by creating larger rural enterprises. Dr. Tara has been outstanding in providing the much-needed thought leadership in the microfinance space from a different viewpoint. She is shifting the conversation away from the microfinance perspective into a social transformation perspective.
You can read all her previous columns here. Her next column will appear on February 27, 2011 (Sunday).
