Multiply attracts entrepreneurs from all over the world who are looking for an easy and low-cost way to start a business, in addition to shoppers looking for a social experience that allows them to communicate with sellers and share opinions and information about products with friends, family and other shoppers. Merchants are primarily concentrated in Southeast Asia, where Multiply has become the second largest social network. The site still gets millions of additional users in the US, India, Brazil and elsewhere, where friends and family continue to share their memories, their stories, their reviews, and their shopping recommendations.
Multiply relies on advertising - from our Multiply Promote(TM) self-serve platform for sellers, as well as ad networks and sponsorships - in addition to subscriptions for Premium and Trusted Seller accounts. In the next few months, we'll introduce transaction fees for sellers, as part of an upgraded e-commerce platform including product listings, integrated with a shopping cart and payment processing, designed to make transactions easier for its existing and new shopper-merchant communities.
In late 2010 we opened new offices in our largest current markets: Manila, Philippines and Jakarta, Indonesia. Our plan is to become the dominant Social Shopping destination in Southeast Asia, and after we launch the next upgrades to our e-commerce platform we will look to replicate our Southeast Asian growth in other markets, with India high on that list.
