With 22 technology brands among the top 300,
and 8 among the 50 Most Trusted Brands, the technology sector is among India’s
most trusted, according to The Brand Trust Report, India Study, 2011. The report
is a result of scientific research
done across 9 Indian cities which generated over 10,00,000 data-points and
16,000 unique brands. Among these sixteen
thousand brands, HP leads the technology category (and the hardware sub-category)
at overall rank of 23, Microsoft is the most trusted software brand at 30th
overall rank, and Google at 70th rank, is the most trusted internet
brand.
The Brand Trust Report, India Study, 2011, is the first of an
annual study series to be published by Trust Research Advisory (TRA), a leading
research organization dedicated to understanding and simplifying concepts
related to Trust. Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) and e-nxt
Financials were the partners in this study. Elaborating on the report, Mr
N. Chandramouli, CEO, Trust Research Advisory said, “Over the last decade,
India has come to mean two things, technology and growth - both so inextricably
intertwined that one necessarily supports the other. Technology as a sector,
directly or indirectly has contributed enormously to better buying propensity
and disposable income among Indians. India has become the center of the world
for processing technologies, both onshore and offshore, and it is no surprise
why the technology sector is among the most trusted by Indians.”
The Brand Trust Report, India Study, 2011 is the result of years of scientific
research to understand the
concept of trust. This involved several hundred hours of discussions with
communication experts and behavioural scientists. On this basis, TRA has created
a proprietary Trust Matrix, comprising 61 different components. Based on this
proprietary Trust Matrix, TRA launched a syndicated primary research on Brand
Trust across 9 cities in India covering 2310 respondents who were classified
into the ‘influencer’ category.
