Tell us about B10Media.
B10Media is a social media management company providing A-Z solutions on social platforms. We create intelligent conversations for brands and organisations and make sure they reach out to their target audience. Right from social media strategy development and analytics to social media advertising and application development, we do it all. We basically help brands GO SOCIAL.
What is your market differentiator?
We believe that content is the most important thing differentiating brands on the social web. Our focus on content and R.O.I for our clients is what make us stand apart from the crowd. I also believe that social media is something the youth can understand more and thus a very young team definitely plays to our advantage.
How did the idea for your start-up come about?
Social Media was something which always amazed me with its unmatched potential to reach out to millions at virtually no cost. So in late 2009, I came up with this idea of starting a company to help brands and organisations reach out to their target audience though the power of the social web. And finally in July, 2010 the idea took shape when I started B10Media. We broke even with the first few projects itself and everything has been entirely self funded till now.
Tell us about your background.
Bala Sarda started B10Media, a 19 Year old Social Media enthusiast in July 2010 to help brands use the power of social networking. With an enormous passion for entrepreneurship, I draw my influence from Young and successful entrepreneurs like Gurbkash Chahal , Mark Zuckerberg and Mark Bao. I have represented my start-up at the prestigious Click Asia Summit in Mumbai this year. B10Media was also selected among the Top25 Student Start-ups from across the country for the Young Entrepreneur Start-up Showcase at IIT- Delhi. Bala Sarda has also been covered by Hindustan Times and Young Turks CNBC TV 18 for his start-up.
Let us know about the tie-ups that you have (if any). Is there acceptance for your concept? Can you give us some incidents to illustrate the same?
We are currently in talks with a couple of digital marketing agencies and organisations who want to outsource their social media requirements.
Where do you see your start up five years from now?
Five years down the line, I see B10 Media among the top players in the social media industry. We are also planning to launch our very own social media marketing platform for brands and are in the lookout for funding for the same. Also, with online advertising , SEO and all aspects of online marketing going social , we might foray into other areas of the digital marketing space with innovative products and services. Are you looking at raising funds?
The company has been entirely self-funded till now. But with a lot of innovative products in the pipeline, we are in the lookout for funding.
As an entrepreneur, what are your joys? What are the challenges?
The joy of seeing something you started from scratch and making it big is invaluable. Also to be very honest the glamour involved with entrepreneurship is very encouraging. If these are the joys, the challenges are unlimited. The first breakthrough, be it the first client or the first sales, is I believe the toughest and most important challenge of any entrepreneur. But then again if you have the patience and determination, you can sail through any challenge.
How big is your team? Are you looking at hiring?
I am presently heading a team of 4 content writers, designers and developers. We also recruit more people on project basis, depending on the size and complexity of the project.
Let us know about your expansion plans.
My enormous passion for entrepreneurship has always made me explore different options. Apart from expanding our social marketing operations, I am also looking to launch different brands and products under the B10Media umbrella. Youth 360 is one such initiative. We through Youth360 will be launching a Comprehensive commercial Youth Newspaper(Print) and also a Youth Portal. There are a couple of other alliances and partnerships in the pipeline in different high potential areas.
Anything else you want to share with us.
We have served 10+ big and small brands through our various social media services in less than 8 Months of operations. We plan to multiply this number by the end of 2011.
We at YourStory wish B10Media all the best as they plan to scale and explore new partnerships. For more details check out http://www.b10media.com/
