More than 400 registrations even before launch
The internet has become a massive junkyard, precious bits of information buried under the rubble. With millions of people and businesses trying to grab attention, it has become very difficult for a user to keep track of the stuff he or she wants to. We’re deluged by information and there are no signs of things slowing down.
Bootstrapped by entrepreneur Parvesh Garg with an expenditure of Rs. 4 lakhs so far, Slabble is a venture that attempts to change the way users consume information on the internet. The tagline says it all - “Slabble - Content. Discovered. Delivered.” To shed some light on the team, Parvesh is what they call the Autotroph and Kshipra is the Avant-Gardist. Parvesh has previously worked with InMobi and Yahoo and Kshipra with InMobi and MindTree.
On being asked to describe Slabble in one line, they said, “Slabble combs the Internet for you. So, you're only delivered incredibly good content that's relevant to your interests. You’ll never have to worry about information overload again.”
To establish strands of order through the flood of information, Slabble hand-picks streams of valuable content augmented by its intelligent interest-aware algorithms. It picks out the best images, talks and texts from every corner of the internet in areas that are relevant to the users’ interests, work and hobbies and are delivered directly to them.
Elaborating on the technology piece of Slabble, Parvesh said, “To start with, we are providing a range of content categories. The content in these categories is trawled from different websites and analyzed by us. When a user selects a category, content is selected for her, based on past browsing patterns and affinities. The content is displayed in an online magazine layout that creates a great user experience. The magazine layout lets the user choose in a very rapid manner on what she wants to read right away or tag it "Read Later". User can read the full articles in an overlay that also allows her to like, share the article and also, ‘like’ the source of the article. All ‘likes’, shares, reads are fed back to our algorithm to know the users’ interests/contexts better and serve her better when she comes back.”Slabble removes stuff that users don't care about. So, they're always in-the-know with respect to what they care about. This is what they aim for and users who sign up for the beta will certainly look forward to get what they signed up for. And with more than 400 registrations even before full-scale launch, Slabble is off to a flying start. Jubin Mehta | YourStory.in
