Social Business Cure Thalassemia launches Bone Marrow Transplantation Unit in collaboration with Narayana Hrudayalaya

On July 10th 2011 Cure Thalassemia Bone Marrow Transplantation Unit was inaugurated at Narayana Hrudayalaya Hospital in Hyderabad, a joint venture between Cure Thalassemia and the Narayana Hrudayalaya.

The first Bone Marrow Transplantation (BMT) will be done in the following months, and the plan is to help thalassemia patients from all over the world. Dr. Pietro Sodani, who has worked since 10 years with Prof. Lucarelli (the inventor of BMT and Cure Thalassemia scientific advisor) is the scientific coordinator, and he attended the inauguration with Mr. Chandrakant Agrawal (co-founder), Mr. Eugenio La Mesa (co-founder and chairman) and Mr Stav Melides (international liaisons officer).
A joint co-ordination committee, whose chairman is Dr. Devi Shetty (Narayana Hrudayalaya founder and CEO), consisting of executives of both the institutions will oversee the overall functioning of the BMT Unit.
Cure Thalassemia management will meet Dr. Devi Shetty and his staff in Bangalore to discuss further projects for a thalassemia checkup excellence center and to improve research for the cure of thalassemia, the most spread genetic mortal disease of the world.
