The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Cell (EnI) at the Indian Institute of Management in Bangalore (IIMB) presents Eximius 2011, IIM Bangalore’s flagship entrepreneurship summit on August 13th and 14th, 2011. The fourth edition of EXIMIUS will focus on breakthrough start-ups with its theme “Unconventional Entrepreneurship”.Staying true to its motto to “ideate, innovate and inspire”, the summit will host a wide variety of competitions, talks, workshops and panel discussions with the goal to engage budding and established entrepreneurs. The audience will learn about “the role of entrepreneurs in shaping India” in the keynote address by Mr. Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Founder of BPL Mobile. They will get also an opportunity to experience entrepreneurship in a workshop by Mr. Rajiv Narang, CEO, Erehwon Consulting. Serious entrepreneurs will get a chance to present their ideas to high profile venture capitalists and seek funding and mentorship at Ingen, the business plan competition. NSRCEL (N. S. Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning), IIM Bangalore and Springboard Ventures will provide participants with incubation opportunity while i2India ventures will be scouting for the next big technological breakthrough.
This year, Eximius will also feature some unconventional start-ups and celebrate their success through a panel discussion with participation from EduSports - India’s largest school sports company, Entertainment Engineers- a stand-up comedy firm by IITians that is tickling the funny bone of India Inc with its sharp wit, Business Blogging- a social media consultancy and YourStory.in, a highly successful online networking platform for entrepreneurs. Besides this, there will also be time to Konnect, the technology panel discussion with entrepreneurs and venture capitalists to explore the next big technological innovation and discuss the challenges involved.Reach, the social entrepreneurship case study competition, will invite ideas to market and scale the efforts of two women in rural Karnataka who manufacture and sell smokeless chulhawith the help of the NGO- Better Future.
