redBus.in Now Offers You 'Amenities' on Board, While Booking aTicket

Wednesday March 28, 2012 , 2 min Read

We are quite used to booking tickets online, be it a flight, train or bus ticket. Most ticket booking platforms provide certain essential information about the journey, such as time of departure and arrival, fare, starting point of the journey, etc.

redBus.in, a brand which is synonymous with booking bus tickets online, has now introduced a new section of information called ‘Amenities'.

Under this section you get information about the various amenities that any particular bus provides. So, before boarding a bus, you will have a clear idea about whether or not a movie will be shown, , the availability of a charging point, a blanket, a bottle of water, etc. will be known to you.

This is a welcome addition, especially for long journeys and for those who are particular about certain aspects of travelling by a bus. There are customers who like the flexibility of working on their laptop while on travel. Information on amenities can really help such customers for whom certain tasks are critical. Information like this is rarely known to anyone else except for the bus operator and providing it on a website only brings in more transparency, helping customers take informed decisions.

Speaking about this feature launch, Mayank Bidawatka, Head Internet and Mobile, redBus.in, said, "We want to empower our customers as much as possible; with amenities now mentioned beforehand, travelers have the luxury of information they can use to make better decisions. This is information that they won’t get anywhere else and we do know that they seek it. We want to ensure that customers have a happy journey when they come to us because we see us as playing a much larger role than just selling tickets. This feature is in its beta state and we are still making many changes that will make it more robust and accurate."
