Trend Micro Announces Release of Deep Security 8.0;ProvidesProtection for Next Generation Datacenters

Friday March 16, 2012 , 2 min Read

Today Trend Micro, Inc., a global cloud security leader, announced the release of Deep Security 8.0. This further expands its server security platform in the IT industry across physical, virtual and cloud computing environments. The latest version provides protection for the next generation datacenter with support for all protection modules for physical, virtual and cloud. Deep Security 8.0 has agentless integrity monitoring capability purpose-built for VMware vSphere 5 virtual environments and other cloud-sourced innovations. Deep Security 8.0 is designed to lower the barrier to adoption of file integrity monitoring across the data center and help small and midsize businesses (SMBs) achieve higher levels of data protection and compliance.

Some of the other features of Deep Security 8.0 are anti-malware, firewall, IDS/IPS, web application protection, application control, integrity monitoring and log inspection in one integrated solution. There are new features for Physical and Virtual Datacenter Security Platform, including automatic cloud-based event white-listing and configurable trusted events to help lower the operational complexity of integrity monitoring, and agent-based anti-malware to allow businesses to extend the same Deep Security protections to physical servers for Windows and Linux operating systems. The agent hardening prevents malware and user tampering on Windows Anti-malware Agent.

Speaking on the occasion of the release, Amit Nath, Country Manager, India & SAARC, Trend Micro said, “Quality is one of our key goals and we are proud to bring Deep Security 8.0. It is a comprehensive, adaptive, and highly efficient server security platform that protects enterprise applications and data from breaches and business disruptions without expensive emergency patching. This comprehensive server security platform helps to simplify security operations while enabling regulatory compliance and accelerating the ROI of virtualization and cloud projects.”

Deep Security 8.0 offers agent-based anti-malware for VDI local mode, which allows continuously optimized protection of virtual desktops as they move outside, and back, into the data center, and the platform leverages web reputation capabilities to protect users from accessing compromised websites.
