Facebook on Your Desktop - Have You Tried The Messenger?
So, Facebook is about to take away more of your time. It wants you to talk more. You must have seen a small pop up hovering near your chat. The launch of this application is to increase the user’s Facebook’s activity, even when the user is not on the browser. When you log into your account, this small popup box in the bottom right will help you to install the Windows App.
From Facebook’s help page - Messenger lets you use Facebook without being on www.facebook.com. You will now be able to stay in touch anytime, no matter what you're doing. Some benefits of this app are the clean multiple chat interface, which is put into various minitabs, the ticker giving you timely updates about your friends, and the notification bar. The app is like the Facebook sidebar from the website including the notifications, but right on your desktop. It also docks to the right of your window, exactly like the website. The UI is simple, and user –friendly. Facebook chat hasn't been a huge favourite with users but this might change it.
Have you tried it yet? What are your views on it?
