TiE Mumbai’s Smash Up; For the Startups By the Startups

TiE Mumbai’s Smash Up; For the Startups By the Startups

Thursday April 05, 2012 , 2 min Read

TiE Mumbai is organizing a startup focused unconference to be held at IIT Bombay’s Victor Menzez Convention Centre called Smash Up. This unconference will take place over the 27th and 28th of April, 2012. Besides TiE there will four other co-hosts; Alok Kejriwal, Mahesh Murthy, Sameer Guglani and Vishal Gondal.

This meet will be exclusively for startups and by startups. “Events for startups generally focus very little time on the startups and rather end up focusing all attention towards the high-profile attendees. Smash Up will be different, where the entire attention will be focused on startups. They can pick up some practical tips and also learn by interacting with other startups,” said Lavin Michandani, Senior Manager, Web Initiatives & Communications, TiE Mumbai.

Some of the key modules of the unconference are:

Startup Panel (Showcase)

• Speed Dating with VCs

• Talent Hunt

• Mentoring Camp

• Startup Bazaar

• Startup Katta (Networking Lounge)

“A number of startups are constantly looking for talent. It could be co-founders or team members. At Smash Up we will have a talent hunt taking place during the entire event, which will allow startups and entrepreneurs to identify people they would like to engage and work with,” informed Lavin.
