Synergy Express Garment Care- Jamshedpur Based Startup to AddressGarment Care Woes

Thursday May 10, 2012 , 2 min Read

Two years ago, in the bustling town of Jamshedpur four youngsters got together to set up a rather unconventional venture called the Synergy Garment Express Care. M.K. Pooja, Vikash Das, Brajesh Kumar - all schooltime friends from the city, together with Pravin Rajpurohit, their college mate from Rajasthan came across the idea to provide better garment care.

Why would someone startup in Jamshedpur? Hailing from the city, Pooja headed to Christ University in Bangalore for her graduation while the boys saw DU as their college destination. It was here that they met Pravin, from Rajasthan. Years later, they all found themselves as business partners in their joint entrepreneurship venture. “It’s surprising to see how big brands usually shy away from this place. We have the hotspot of one of the biggest business houses in the country (the Tatas) and the environment for new ventures is just so ideal. We would never want to go away!” tells Pooja.

What do they do?

They plan to give a wide array of services from retail to speciality to premium services covering dry and wet cleaning, fashion cleaning and a lot more. The backbone of Synergy is the imported state-of-the-art Italian machinery, some of the best utilities in the industry and fabric friendly high quality German solvents that bring longevity to your garments. “We are the single-stop solution to take care of all kinds of fabrics - from clothes and shoes to curtains, towels and linens – we also have monthly and yearly offers.” says Pooja.

Not wanting to fall in the rat-race, the quartet had a tough time explaining the situation as families would for sure have their concerns but somehow they managed to overcome the initial barriers and are now doing well. Their online presence is weak as of now but have a strong hold over the market in Jamshedpur. “The idea is to provide the best quality services and to horizontally keep expanding our offerings.” tells Pooja.

Having a blue-collared startup in Jamshedpur and doing well with it, this team definitely needs to be commended for their efforts. If scaled with a proper plan and with the right support, they can turn into a bigger force to be reckoned with.

As of now, they claim to be the best in Jamshedpur and we wish them luck for their future endeavors. Check out their services here.
