The F.C.Kohli auditorium at IIT Bombay, Powai saw an overwhelming turnout with people from all across the Startup ecosystem coming to witness and be a part of this event. TechSparks, which is in its third year has been nothing short of a revolution in the Startup field in India and has seen a phenomenal growth. This has been the inspiration to have TechSparks 2012 with the theme “The Smartest Way to Scale up Your Startup”.
The event started out with founder of Yourstory.in, Shradha Sharma delivering an energy boosting introductory note. “Mighty flames follow the tiny sparks,” she said and encouraged all the startups in the jam packed auditorium to go ahead and do it. “You lead and we’ll support” she added. The note was followed with the hallmark of the event, the Product Workshop which was conducted by Aditya Kulkarni, who has had the experience of developing and conceptualizing products for India at Google. The workshop turned out to be an extremely interactive one with the entrepreneurs in the crowd setting up the mood. The workshop lent some extremely innovative ideas to launch and develop a product the right way.
The workshop was followed by presentations from Reverie Language Technologies and Heckyl Technologies, the winners at Techsparks 2011. Arvind Pani from Reverie demonstrated their Language Transliteration platform and Mukund M. from Heckyl showcased the real time financial data they handle.
The Panel discussion which was the concluding part of the event was monitored by the Executive Editor of Forbes and editor of ForbesLife India, Charles Assisi. The discussion took interesting twists with questions directed at both the VCs and entrepreneurs. Abhay Pandey the Managing Director at Sequoia Capital and Rick Harshman, Head of ASEAN and India, AWS got a lot of direct questions from the entrepreneurs in the house.
On the whole, the Mumbai Roundtable was a grand success and we'd like to take this opportunity to thank the all the sponsors, the entrepreneurs who make the event possible and the E-Cell at IIT Bombay for facilitating with logistics.
Stay tuned for much more from further rounds at Techsparks!
