Myntra Launches Style Studio- A Tech Enhancement That'll Help Shoppers 'Create a Look'

Myntra Launches Style Studio- A Tech Enhancement That'll Help Shoppers 'Create a Look'

Wednesday October 17, 2012 , 2 min Read

Myntra, one of India's foremost eCommerce portals, an online fashion and lifestyle store has been growing a rapid pace. We recently visited their (fabulous startup) workplace to understand their culture and the process behind shipping more than 8000 products a day to all over India. An organization buzzing with innovation, Hackathons are a regular part of the culture. Building on an innovation, Myntra has launched Style Studio- an enhancement that allows the user to virtually mix and match various products listed on Myntra and create unique looks for themselves.Mukesh Bansal, Founder & CEO, Myntra said, “We realize that customers come to Myntra not only for the largest selection of brands, but they are also looking for advice on how to put products together to create a complete look. Myntra’s ‘Style Studio’ will enable customers to mix and match products and create the desired look on a model before making a purchase decision. We believe this will be a game changer for online fashion shopping in India. On a technology innovation front, Myntra’s Style Studio is one of the most evolved virtual dressing rooms in the country and unlike most products of its kind; it is built on HTML 5 instead of Flash to enhance compatibility across devices”

We gave it a rip, and yes, it sure is fun. You can mix and match clothes, accessories, etc and create a look. I look no where close to what the guy looks like but I went for a simple look:

First impression made me want to drag and drop the clothes onto the mannequin but clicking alone suffices. The look can be shared via FB or Twitter and a bar at the bottom left also shows how much you'd be paying for the look.

The day is not far when players like Gamooz and Imaginate bring in Aumented Reality over here and you'd be the person wearing the look. A cool new feature, give it a spin here and women can try it out in their own Style Studio.
