Angels Come Together to Form 'Impact Circle' to Fund For-Profit Social Ventures


The Impact Circle, an Ennovent initiative, is an exclusive group of individual & institutional investors looking to support high potential entrepreneurs creating a sustainable impact at the base of the economic pyramid in India. It currently has over 9 individuals (e.g. angels) and 6 institutions (e.g. foundations, funds), who actively participate in the Impact Circle since its inception in April 2012. Anurag Jain, who led delivery services at Dell, Joydeep Mukherji, a former American Express executive and Sadeesh Raghavan, former managing director at Accenture are some of the members of the circle.

The Impact Circle offers investment opportunities to make a sustainable impact at the Base of economic Pyramid (BoP) in India while generating financial returns for investors. Members support early-stage enterprises in scaling up their impact by providing capital, expertise and access to their network.

Seed investment has been closed by one Impact Circle member and due diligence is on for two others. Early stage social startups in the food, energy, healthcare, water and education sectors are the right kind of firms for Impact Circle to fund.
