Almost every social entrepreneur, in whatever phase of their journey, faces funding-related challenges along their journey towards growth. Since the funding environment is extremely complex, how can these entrepreneurs successfully position themselves to impact investors? During this discussion, a platform will be provided so entrepreneurs have the opportunity to interact with and understand the methodology of investors, who are always thought to to be on the opposite side of the table. This discussion will provide social entrepreneurs and other players in the sector, an understanding into the workings of impact investment, specifically:
• How potential “fundees” contact impact investors?
• The process for impact investors when they receive a funding proposal/idea.
• How do they separate good proposals/ideas from the not-so-good ones?
• How to effectively present an idea to an impact investor?
• Guidance through the funding lifecycle.

Vikram Raman – Unitus Capital
Vikram’s background includes experience in investing and auditing, and most recently worked for 5 years with the Acumen Fund where he led the charge towards building the India Health portfolio as well as the India Agriculture portfolio. He worked on deals through the transaction cycle on both pre-investment due diligence and deal structure as well as on post-investment relationship management.
Snigdha Rao – Aavishkar
Snigdha is a Senior Investment Manager at Aavishkaar Venture Management. Snigdha is a management graduate from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) and an engineer from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT-M). She runs early stage investments in healthcare, financial inclusion, renewable energy and other sectors.
