[YS TV] Public Interest Registry Hopes To Acquire .NGO Domain Space For Registered Nonprofits

Leveraging ICANN’s framework for new domain name extensions, Public Interest Registry (PIR) has recently applied for the .ngo extension. PIR currently acts as the registry for the .org ecosystem online, and hopes to acquire the .ngo domain space in order to create a unique online ecosystem specifically for registered nonprofits. PIR hopes to have the domain space up and running by mid 2013, or early 2014 at the latest.

We connected with Anand Vora, Channel Manager at PIR, for an exclusive YS TV interview regarding the timeline for .ngo, and how the new domain space will fit into PIR’s current business model.
