A venture of WGM Media Services Pvt. Ltd, BatteryBhai.com is an online multi-brand battery store. Definitely a niche area, BatteryBhai has picked up a high ticket size market. BatteryBhai claims to deliver and install (car) batteries and inverters within 24 hours in the 12 cities it operates in.

Co-founded by Vishwa Deep, Kuldeep Singh and Varun Joshi, BatteryBhai has an experienced team with a cumulative of 30 years of work experience in various fields, online being common. WGM Media Services Pvt. Ltd. was started in 2009 but BatteryBhai took flight only in 2011. And in its first year of operations has grossed INR 8.4 million (INR 5 lakhs, 8.4 million is for the parent company WGM Media Services)

Based out of New Delhi, the trio has done themselves good by tapping a rather unique market. “We make money by sharing the profits with the partner dealers on each sale,” says Vishwa. “Our customers are highly satisfied and most of our deliveries and installations are done within 4 hours,” he adds. The availability of the battery will depend on the dealer and hence BatteryBhai doesn’t bear any inventory cost.

Places where BatteryBhai delivers as of now: Delhi NCR (covering Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon and Faridabad), Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Vadodara, Ahmedabad and Chennai.

Talking about the future, Vishwa informs, “BatteryBhai.com plans to be the preferred source for buying various types of batteries for different applications. We’ll also expand our portfolio to include car accessories.”

The EFYTimes puts the battery market in India at INR 100 billion and is expected to grow YoY by 25% till 2015; 65% of this market is accounted by automotive batteries. BatteryBhai has competition from likes of Inverterworld and DelhiBatteries but definitely scores higher on maturity and functionality.
