Of the 40 entries for the month of January in contention for the prize gave Qualcomm Ventures a tough time in deciding the winners. But after much deliberation and analysis, they have bought in down to 5 companies which are the top 5 emerging consumer internet companies, for the month of January.
Here are the list of companies that made the top 5 cut –
The winning WebSpark, for the month of January, is dineout, a table reservation website which enables the customer to book a table, online and on the go through its mobile app at their favourite restaurants in town.
Narrowly missing the top spot, is LurnQ, an online platform that connects learners with quality content, great teachers, a social community and an environment that encourages collaboration.
SpotMyGadget, a service that helps users intuitively select and find gadgets such as smartphones, digital cameras, laptops and more also fell short by just a few notches for the top spot.
Gingko, an online printing platform for obtaining personal, promotional, commercial, and informational print products.
Honeytask from Vheed technologies, a collaborative project management app, also made the cut for the top 5.
This is the first month of this 3 month long online campaign. In the coming months, we will see more exciting and emerging startups in this space.
