Remember the days when your parents asked you not to watch too much TV? They felt strongly against one screen holding all your attention. In addition to being worried about your eyesight and health, I think they were also concerned about what you were watching when they were not around. How they wish they had some way to get a sneak peek into your TV watching pattern. Something to help them see what is going on your TV screen. They always meant well.
Today, when we are constantly interacting, searching and shopping online, businesses are in a need of a similar product. Something that helps them know where the visitors spend most time on their websites, what do they search for, what troubles are they having and what makes them leave a page. After all, whether they are right or wrong, customers always matter.
Gamooga, using its real time app deployment platform, has built a product with similar capabilities. Gamooga second screen, a real time customer support solution, offers deeper insights into what visitors are doing on the website. It shows different activities being performed by visitors like page visits, searches, cart abandonments, checkout errors etc. as they happen. Second screen functions exactly as it sounds –a screen on which you can see every movement that is made by the visitor on his/her browser.
The product is mainly useful for e-commerce/SaaS companies for understanding onsite customer behavior and engaging with them to provide quicker solutions for any problems faced. The idea for second screen struck Kishore Annapureddy, founder – Gamooga, when he saw a friend, who did not have prior online shopping experience wanting to buy a smart phone from an e-commerce site. His friend kept visiting the same product page on their website for a couple of days but had his apprehensions about online shopping. Even though the phone was available at a cheaper price than any physical store would have offered, he did not buy it. Kishore thought to himself that if the site had the visibility of what his friend was doing, they could have addressed his apprehensions and not lost a customer.
Kishore says, “I started mulling over these kind of situations in e-shopping and tried to dig deep into customers' thoughts. I strongly believe it is very important to identify the behavioral traits of the customers and then target them with highly personalized support in real time. So we went on to develop the product that provides you all the features to enable such deep targeting and instant support.”
Gamooga has a team of five members who have worked on developing GSS from end to end. When they started building the product, they realized that market of real time support solutions is nascent in India. Big retail chains like Walmart, Target, JCPenny, Staples etc invest millions of dollars in such deep targeting projects. GSS is trying to provide similar technology to all the e-tail shops at fraction of the cost.

He believes that a lot more is possible in this space and they have just started. He adds, “Going forward you will see highly personalized shopping experience in all the e-tailing shop. We intend to be the forefront in providing deeply targeted real time support. GSS is sure to appear as magic to the uninitiated."
