Planning to go for bungee jumping, rafting, and backwaters kayaking, but not able to find place where you get all information about pricing, best period, and safety kits?  Here comes Tripplatform - a platform for travel enthusiast to get all curated information and experts to offer tours and activities including online payment facility.

Currently, most Indian travel sites focus on flights, hotels and bus bookings, however there is a void in terms of activities and day tours (i.e. things to do at and around destination). Tripplatform aims to connect specialized activity operators which are fragmented on a single platform. Founded by husband and wife duo - Gaurav and Kanika Agarwal - Tripplatform gives each travel expert login and password to control and manage their listings, bookings and availability.

Speaking about the thoughts behind becoming an entrepreneur, Agarwal said, “I always wanted to start something of my own, but wanted to have some experience in well-established companies before starting. I have travelled to various parts of India. My wife and I both love travelling, but we realized that there is a void when it comes to ‘Things to do at the Destination’ – travellers often just visit a few sight-seeing spots but there is a host of other things to do which can make you truly experience the culture and understand the destination in-depth, and there are specialists who can make you do that, but they are fragmented, so we thought why don’t we connect them on a platform”.Presently the startup gets around 300-400 unique visitors a day, maximum towards the weekends. In terms of bookings, the startup has been able to manage bookings for 38 travellers, 4 groups for its weekend activities. The initial queries Tripplatform receive from individuals are primarily for trekking and sight-seeing tours, food tours and heritage walks. In future company intends to add more travel experts at various destinations for upcoming travel season. So far, the company is being bootstrapped. However, it is eyeing to raise angel round to scale. The Mumbai based venture also plans to introduce car rentals for daily hire or for outstation trips.
