Why Guppit will change the way you look at coupons
Every time I open up an ecommerce site to make a purchase, opening five more tabs to search for coupons is almost sure. It is something we can't help, just to get few more bucks off from the cost of our purchase most of us can go to any number of tabs and if we know that any of our friends might have a coupon for the same we can go to the extent of calling him up as well to ask for the codes.
Like most of us, Himanshu Joshi and Puneet Poddar had also felt the pain and decided to something about it. And after a lot of deliberation they pivoted their affiliate advertisement startup Guppit towards this problem. On asking about their decision to direction they say -"We felt that we can save more money and help many more people earn a lot of cashback from us. We gained good expertise in the advertisement and coupons market and thought why not use it to get deals to everyone when they want it."
Himanshu comes from the first batch of NIT Bhopal (In 2003 REC Bhopal was renamed to NIT) and always had the entrepreneurial streak in him, even while working in corporate Himanshu started various projects like puzzlesforyou.com and later softwaregang.com (they are no more active).
The best part about Guppit is the clutter free interface of the extension. I just visited a site and the number of coupons they had for the site are reflected as part of the extension. They have already partnered with over 70 ecommerce players including Flipkart, Snapdeal, Zovi, Myntra, Jabong, Amazon India, Naaptol, Yepme, Yebhi among other sites. The extension shows coupons in a very non intrusive way and only opens the pop up when you click on it keeping you away from irritating distractions.
Another good feature which I encountered on the site is that you can set product watch once you sign up on the site. Allow me to explain this in detail, I had been looking forward to buy a Nikon DSLR from quite some time, but the model I wanted (D 5200) was too costly, so I log on to guppit enter my product name and the price below which I am looking to buy and forget about it. Once the price drops below my level guppit sends me an email and I can proceed to buy my DSLR which I was longing for. By the way Himanshu is also a good photographer and you can seek his advice if you are planning to buy your next camera.
Guppit is also part of the first cohort of Kyron accelerator and Nasscom Warehouse Initiative.
McDowell’s No. 1 Platinum respects Leaders like Himanshu who took the unbeaten path and also inspires more people to follow their dreams and join them in their unconventional journey.
