Subroto Bagchi is a successful entrepreneur, business leader and bestselling business author. He co-founded an IT company Mindtree in 1999 and was instrumental in articulating Mindtree’s mission, vision and values, scaling it up to reach IPO in 2007. He is a neither an engineer nor an MBA but he is one of the most popular names in Indian entrepreneurial circles when it comes to sustaining and scaling up ventures.
He has penned down experiences and learnings from his career which are bestsellers today. Subroto’s books include, ‘The High Performance Entrepreneur’, ‘Go Kiss the World’, ‘The Professional’, ‘MBA at 16’, ‘The Professional Companion’ and ‘The Elephant Catchers’. Prior to MindTree, he served as VP of Product Realization, Lucent Technologies. He has set up Wipro's six Sigma initiatives as Corporate Vice President of Mission Quality. He also served as Chief Executive of Wipro's global R&D division. He is credited with setting up Wipro's US operations in Silicon Valley.
