TiE-IQ announces second bootcamp on B2C mobile products

In November, eight bright startups graduated from the first TiE-IQ bootcamp in Mumbai: Treashare, MyEffecto, SemaTools, MeraBackup, BugClipper, RippleHire, Sharemojo and BreezeTrader. From helping them refine their venture ideas to identifying customers and markets, the bootcamp experience was an enriching one, said these participants of the first batch.

Vispy Davar, an investor present at the demo-day, said he was impressed with the quality of participants at the bootcamp and said he will consider putting his money in some of them. Rehan Yar Khan, founder, Orios Venture Partners also echoed Vispy to say he really liked the confidence the founders at the bootcamp had. Rehan’s personal favourite was MyEffecto – a widget that can be added to any website to express the reader’s feelings about the site through a variety of expressions.

The 60-day bootcamp was focused purely on building B2B technology products, who came in with a MVP. Over the period of 60-days, the MVP that startups came in to the camp with was refined. They were mentored by experts, entrepreneurs and were provided assistance in finding the market and customer fit for their products.

Graduates of the first batch of TiE-IQ bootcamp

A few participants we interacted with at the bootcamp, spoke highly of the entrepreneurs who came in as mentors during the course of the program. Ankit Arora, founder, Sharemojo, articulated the sentiments of all participants when he said: “the mentors we had for the bootcamp are also entrepreneurs and have seen the pains of building and scaling a business. Having someone who has gone through what we have set out to do is very useful, because they have seen things at ground zero.” At the end of the bootcamp, most participants’ products were ready to enter the market and in some cases like SemaTools & MeraBackup -- they already had actual customers using their product.

Before the year could end, TiE-IQ has announced their second bootcamp, which this time will be all about consumer mobile products. Again the same criteria apply – applicants should have a minimum viable B2C mobile product, and the applicants should be willing to relocate and operate out of the bootcamp co-working space for 60 days.
