The raised fund will be used in strengthening the team and product development. The Mumbai-based company primarily deals with IT security. Wegilant offers strategies, capabilities, and technologies necessary to help businesses pre-emptively protect Web applications and IT infrastructure from threats.

A SAAS-based product company, Wegilant has started making a foray into the products space with Appvigil.

Speaking exclusively to YourStory, Toshendra, CEO, Wegilant, said, “The company was started as a student venture while I was studying in IIT, Bombay, and bootstrapped with training business. We were profitable earlier but now we have shifted our focus from training to product completely.”

The startup’s flagship product Appvigil helps developers/QA managers/App store administrators identify security and privacy vulnerabilities during app development life-cycle and reduces the chances of being damaged on production level where cost of recovery is huge.

Toshendra, an IIT Bombay alumnus incubated Wegilant at IIT-Bombay’s SINE. The company started out by offering security audit services for websites, networks, wireless networks, mobile devices and applications, and compliance of IT regulations.
