Rajasthan police has recently upgraded 'RajCop Citizen' - a specially designed smart phone application which will enable citizens to report crime instantly using their high-end mobile phones.

"The upgraded version of 'RajCop Citizen' app was relaunched with some additional features which will make reporting of crime easier for people using their smartphones," ADG (SCRB) Kapil Garg said.

The user of this android based application can seek police assistance in just one touch, he said, adding verification of credential of a domestic help can also been done by using the mobile app.

The application has 'I need help' option for seeking police assistance during emergency, Garg said. Also details about the owner of a vehicle in case of its theft can also be accessed through the application, the ADG said.

Rajasthan Minister of State for Home Gulabchand Kataria who was present at the function also released a special poster on the app.

Rajasthan reports third highest number of 'crimes against women' cases, according to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCBR) data. In terms of incidents of rape, the state has gained notoriety, reporting the second highest number of cases following only Madhya Pradesh.
