Rajasthan to set up 50 incubation centers for promotion of startups

Rajasthan Cabinet gave approval to set up 50 incubation centers for promotion of startups in the state and new policies for MSME and biotechnology sectors. The meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje also approved a scheme for the revival of sick micro and small units. Distressed units will be given benefits for their revival and rehabilitation, Social Justice Minister Arun Chaturvedi said.

The biotechnology policy will be focused on bio technology, fertiliser, fodder production, public health, environment and energy, he said. He also informed the Cabinet was briefed about a water storage scheme under which construction work for storages will be taken up and completed in 3,000 villages by 2016. The government targets to cover a total of 21,000 villages in different phases for construction of water storage bodies in coming years.

The Cabinet also approved setting up a project of a chemical and fertiliser company in Baran with an initial investment of Rs 367 crore. The project will generate 500 jobs, the minister informed. Transport Minister Yunus Khan said that a special road safety campaign undertaken by the transport department was also discussed in the meeting. "We will make people aware in all the 9900 Gram Panchayats in the state under the special campaign on October 2. All the MLAs, MPs and other public representatives have been urged to be part of the campaign so that maximum people can be benefited", he said.
