"Our customer base across UP, especially Lucknow, has grown phenomenally in the last one year. Consumers from this region are enjoying online shopping. With this insight, we have rolled out FlipkartConnect campaign in this region and we hope to double our customers soon," Flipkart's Vice President (Business Development) Adarsh Menon told reporters.

He said home apparel and small home appliances were on the top of the list of shopping in this region, adding that soon new categories, including national and international brands, will be available on the site.

‘FlipkartConnect’ was originally designed to educate and create awareness among customers in Punjab about the benefits of online shopping. As reported earlier, with over 2 lakhs customers, Punjab is one of the fastest growing regions in North India and witnessed close to 8 per cent month on month growth. The latest trends reflect that shoppers across all age groups especially students and young professionals are increasingly shopping via mobile app from tier two cities across the country.
