Amber Simone was born with craniosynostosis – a birth defect in which the joints between the skull bones close prematurely. Speech was a distant dream, as they didn’t expect her to even breathe normally. But now, she is a powerful singer.
The Buffalo, New York girl calls it a miracle that she was able to start breathing on her own. “It’s hard to grasp,” Amber told WGRZ. “I have confidence, but I never thought me sitting by the pool, a random video would be so viral. I wouldn’t be able to have a voice at all, I wouldn’t be able to sing at all,” she said.
She was able to captivate nearly 3 million viewers on social media in less than 7 days. She inspired thousands with her astoundingly passionate music video about women empowerment and the need to confront and walk away from domestic abuse. One of her videos recently went viral, as she is currently running a GoFundMe campaign to raise money to be develop a music label committed to creating socially responsible music.
