Friday August 12, 2016 , 2 min Read

In a special initiative to bring all stakeholders on a single platform and get direct feedback on the challenges and opportunities for the city, MCG Gurgaon has initiated a special summit, the Gurgaon Innovation Summit, this Saturday, at Epicentre. Starting at 9:30 a.m, the day-long summit will focus on getting feedback from entrepreneurs who are already working out of Gurgaon, besides sessions by investors on what would make the city even more welcoming for startups and established firms alike.

Gurgan Innovation Summit

The day will see a special highlight in the form of a pitching session, where five select startups in the healthcare domain and beyond will be presenting their models to the attending delegates and investors. There will also be special sessions by experts on the current challenges and opportunities the city offers, and a session led by investors who will discuss the broader opportunities in the healthcare and biotech sectors, besides their expectations of startups in the sector. Speakers include Dheeraj Jain from Redcliffe Capital, Arpit Agarwal from Blume Ventures, Dr. Prabuddha Kundu of Premas Biotech, Dr. Harsh Mishra from iSeed and many other eminent professionals from both the government and private sector.

For T L Satyaprakash, IAS, and Deputy Commissioner, MCG Gurgaon, the initiative marks a key point in the need to shift attention to the future the city needs to think about. “I have strongly believed that sectors like healthcare and biotech offer the next growth opportunity for the state of Haryana and Gurgaon itself, and a cluster-based approach is one way to ensure that we deliver the best possible opportunity for startups and corporates to settle here. With this event, we hope to get some valuable feedback from existing as well as potential stakeholders on the key steps MCG and various divisions of the state will need to consider.”

Organised by Yourstory Media Pvt Limited, India’s leading platform for startups and entrepreneurs, the summit has been backed by Keystone SEZ, of the Mayar Group, as a ‘powered by’ sponsor. The Keystone SEZ in Gurgaon is itself a prestigious project from the Mayar Group, which has a vision to create a unique R&D cluster, besides opportunities for key industrial categories to benefit from its high class facilities .
