For many generations, the tribals of Shiwatrai have been living and breathing archery. In the traditional archery community, both boys and girls of the village are exposed to the skill at a very young age. The local archery coach Itwari Raj has been training the new generation in the discipline, reports DD News. As a result, Shiwatrai has produced many champion archers over the past few years.

Despite a severe lack of resources, Shiwatrai has produced nearly 50 national level archers in the past. The local district administration has decided to build an archery academy in the region and set up training camps. With these facilities in place, the number of national level archers coming out of the village is expected to increase manifold in the days to come. The new facilities will help boost the skill levels of the young archers here, reports Tahlka News.

With formal training, residents of Shiwatrai hope that their village will soon produce archers of international calibre and make the country proud by winning medals at global sporting events.
