How planning your day the night before will ensure better productivity

Why spend the whole day thinking about the next task in line when all you need to do is spare few minutes the night before, making a plan?  This will not only help you save time but will also keep you stress-free.  Every person has a different morning routine. Some of us might be so proactive we immediately plunge into answering mails and phone calls on Monday mornings. A few of us might feel lethargic and stare at our to-do list with hopes of building motivation. Here are a few pros of planning your day the previous night:

It gives you more clarity

If you start your day without a plan, you are sure to be on your toes and busy, but chances are that you won’t be too productive.  The reason you feel pre-occupied is because you have a lot of clutter to clear off your path. Just like removing weeds gives you a fresh new lawn, removing unwanted activities helps you clarify your priorities.

It helps you catch some sound sleep

You may have come across at least one person who is fortunate to get eight hours of uninterrupted sleep. Chances are that he or she is someone who has their next day completely planned out. When your to-do list is buzzing inside your head, you tend to subconsciously worry about it, thereby affecting your much-needed sleep.

It sets the tone for the day

The first few hours of the day are critical in defining how the rest of your day goes. If you wake up to a stressful and cluttered morning, your entire day will follow the same pattern.  Finally, the feeling of having a million things to accomplish will become overwhelming, leaving you at your wit’s end.

On the other hand, waking up knowing you have a peaceful day ahead will ease your burden and welcome positivity. This positivity will reflect even in your interactions with others. The good thing about a calm and happy mind is that it is contagious!

It helps you set reasonable goals

With each day that passes, you will realise how much you are capable of accomplishing. This will motivate you to set goals for yourself. At the end of the day, you will be able to strike out more tasks from your to-do list, which will give you immense satisfaction. Over time, your goals will become more manageable and reasonable.

Try these few tips today and you will notice you are slowly on the path to success. Whether success gets you one step higher or just makes you happier, being systematic and far- sighted will surely make you a better person and give your life a lot more meaning.
